St Peter’s Kirk, Sandwick, Orkney

This simple lime-washed kirk sits in a rugged and exposed position overlooking the Bay of Skaill on the west coast of mainland Orkney. St Peter’s is a non-CCT church offered by the Scottish Redundant Churches Trust. Its calm and restrained interior is dominated by a triple-decker pulpit and two double-height arched windows which flood the kirk with light. There are stunning views from the kirk across the bay to the Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site of Skara Brae and Champing™ in St Peter’s will be a uniquely memorable experience. Please note that there is a maximum of a two night stay in this church.
